Profile 3/6 — Learning by Trying to Eventually Become a Role Model
A Human Design profile.
The profile living three clear phases: experimenting much in first half of life, observing from the roof in maturity, and becoming model in the last stage.
Some people's lives have three very different stages. Youth is intense, full of changes and errors. Middle adulthood is more observer, almost distant. And maturity becomes reference for others. It's Profile 3/6.
Fact sheet
What does the conscious line bring?
Line 3, The Experimenter, is your conscious side. You learn by trying. Especially strong in the first phase of life (until about 30), where you live many changes, errors, chapters.
What does the unconscious line bring?
Line 6, The Role Model, is your unconscious side and unfolds in three phases. Phase 1 (until about 30): intense experimentation, along with line 3. Phase 2 (30 to 50 approx.): you climb 'to the roof' — you become more observer, more distant, less launched. Phase 3 (50+): descend to the world as model of something you lived and learned.
What does it look like day to day?
The 3/6 may have a very intense first half of life, with many changes of career, partners, places. Afterward, around 30, usually a period of greater observation comes, where they distance a bit from constant experimenting. And eventually, in maturity, become reference — share what they learned and others learn from their path.
How does it show up in shadow frequency?
The shadow has three faces by phase. In the first: despairing from errors and inconstancy. In the second: totally isolating without descending to the world again. In the third: pretending to be model without having lived or distilled enough.
Examples
- At 25, you punish yourself for all changes and errors. You don't see it's your path. You depress.
- At 40, you isolate from the world from the roof. You no longer try anything new, but also don't offer your wisdom. Your line 6 got trapped.
- At 55, you pose as model without having really integrated your life. Your authority is borrowed, not earned.
And in high frequency?
In High Frequency, the 3/6 goes through each phase with patience and consciousness. In the first, accepts errors as material. In the second, observes from height without bittering. In the third, offers what they learned as real model. Their mature wisdom is exceptional.
Examples
- At 25, your life is intense but you trust the process. Each error is a lesson. You don't punish yourself.
- At 40, you took a period of relative retreat. You're observing your life, integrating. You don't seek more experience — you seek to understand.
- At 55, you're reference in your area. You share what you lived with others in their phase 1. Your authority is real.
How do you train it?
First: identify what phase you're in and accept it. Each phase has its own task. Second: in the roof phase, don't totally isolate — observe but don't disconnect from the world. Third: in the model phase, offer from humility, not from pedestal. Your value is in having lived and distilled.
How does it relate to other profiles?
The 3/6 connects well with 1/3 and 3/5 (experiment language) in phase 1. With 4/6 and 6/2 in phase 3 (model language). Clashes with itself when not accepting its current phase.
