El dictamen. La fuerza domesticadora de lo grande. Es propicia la perseverancia. No comer en la propia casa trae fortuna. Es favorable cruzar las grandes aguas.

La imagen. El cielo dentro de la montaña: la imagen de la gran acumulación. Así el noble se instruye en los dichos antiguos y en los hechos del pasado para fortalecer con ellos su carácter.

Abajo está el cielo, la fuerza creadora entera; arriba, la montaña, que es quietud. La figura dice algo casi imposible de imaginar: todo el cielo guardado adentro de una montaña. Una energía enorme retenida por una forma que no se mueve. Eso es dà chù, la gran acumulación: no una represión, un almacén.

La montaña que contiene al cielo es el granero del reino, y el granero solo tiene sentido si algún día se abre. Por eso el Dictamen dice que no comer en la propia casa trae fortuna: en la China antigua eso significaba comer de la mesa del estado, ser convocado a un cargo. Lo acumulado en privado se vuelve valioso cuando se pone al servicio de algo más grande que la propia familia.

Y por eso la Imagen manda estudiar a los antiguos. El carácter no se acumula solo con experiencia propia, que siempre es poca; se acumula heredando la experiencia de otros. El que se llena de dichos, historias y hechos del pasado tiene con qué sostener la fuerza cuando por fin la suelte. La montaña también se hizo de a capas.

The Judgment. The taming power of the great. Steadfastness brings reward. Not eating at home brings good fortune. It is favourable to cross the great water.

The Image. Heaven within the mountain: the image of the Great Accumulating. Thus the noble one studies the sayings of antiquity and the deeds of the past, and strengthens character with them.

Below sits heaven, the whole creative force; above sits the mountain, which is stillness. The figure states something almost impossible to picture: the entire sky kept inside a mountain. An enormous energy held by a form that does not move. That is da chu, the great accumulating: not a repression, a storehouse.

The mountain that contains heaven is the granary of the kingdom, and a granary only makes sense if one day it opens. That is why the Judgment says not eating at home brings good fortune: in ancient China that meant eating at the table of the state, being called into office. What was piled up in private becomes valuable when it is put at the service of something larger than the family.

And that is why the Image orders the study of the ancients. Character is not accumulated from your own experience alone, which is always thin; it is accumulated by inheriting the experience of others. Whoever fills up on sayings, stories and deeds of the past has something to hold the force with when they finally release it. The mountain was also made in layers.

Sacaste el 26 y casi seguro que la pregunta tenía que ver con una espera que ya se te está haciendo larga. Tenés fuerza, tenés ganas, tenés material, y algo no arranca. La respuesta del hexagrama no es "todavía no": es "todavía no y no es en vano".

Lo que está pasando no es un freno, es una carga: la montaña está guardando el cielo hasta que valga la pena abrirla. Cada mes que estudiás, ahorrás, practicás o simplemente aguantás sin gastarte, la presión disponible aumenta. El día que se libere no vas a salir con lo mismo que tenías al principio.

En lo concreto: el ahorro que no tocás, la carrera que estás terminando, el oficio que practicás sin público, el libro que no publicaste, la conversación difícil que decidiste dar en el momento correcto y no en el primer arrebato. También el cuerpo: entrenar es exactamente esto, cargar contra una resistencia que no cede.

El error típico son las dos descargas. Una es reventar la presa antes de tiempo: mandar el mensaje, gastar el ahorro, anunciar el proyecto a medio hacer, decirlo todo en la primera discusión. La otra es la inversa y es más silenciosa: acumular para siempre, convertir la preparación en escondite, agregar un curso más, un mes más, una versión más. El tercer camino del 26 está en el Dictamen: no comas en tu propia casa. Sacá lo acumulado del círculo privado y ponelo al servicio de algo que te exceda, un encargo real, un cliente, una comunidad. La montaña se abre hacia afuera o no se abre.

En lo práctico, el hexagrama 26 suele aparecer cuando:

• Estás preparándote hace rato para algo que todavía no empezó.
• Tenés una capacidad real que casi nadie afuera de tu casa conoce.
• Te frenaron un proyecto y no sabés si es una señal o una etapa.
• Sentís mucha energía acumulada y ganas de descargarla de golpe.

You drew 26 and the question almost certainly involved a wait that is starting to feel long. You have force, you have appetite, you have material, and something will not start. The hexagram does not answer "not yet": it answers "not yet, and not for nothing".

What is happening is not a brake, it is a load: the mountain is holding the sky until opening it is worth it. Every month you study, save, practise or simply hold without spending yourself, the available pressure grows. The day it is released you will not be walking out with what you had at the beginning.

Concretely: the savings you do not touch, the degree you are finishing, the craft you practise without an audience, the book you have not published, the hard conversation you decided to have at the right moment rather than in the first flare. The body too: training is exactly this, loading against a resistance that does not give.

The typical mistake is one of two discharges. The first is bursting the dam early: sending the message, spending the savings, announcing the half-built project, saying everything in the first argument. The second is the reverse and is quieter: accumulating forever, turning preparation into a hiding place, adding one more course, one more month, one more version. The third way of 26 is in the Judgment: do not eat at home. Take what you accumulated out of the private circle and put it at the service of something bigger than you, a real commission, a client, a community. The mountain opens outward or it does not open.

In practice, hexagram 26 tends to come up when:

• You have been preparing for a long time for something that has not started.
• You have a real capacity that almost nobody outside your house knows about.
• A project of yours was held back and you cannot tell whether it is a sign or a stage.
• You feel a lot of stored energy and the urge to discharge it all at once.

   Hay peligro a la vista. Conviene desistir.Danger is at hand. It furthers to desist.

   Querés salir ya y la línea te dice que no. No porque estés equivocado en el fondo, sino porque en la posición más baja todavía no tenés con qué sostener lo que vas a provocar. En lo cotidiano: no pidas el aumento esta semana, no publiques el hilo enojado, no firmes el contrato hasta leerlo entero. Detenerse acá no cuesta nada; en dos movimientos más costaría bastante. Guardá el impulso, que lo vas a necesitar entero.

   You want to move out now and the line says no. Not because you are wrong underneath, but because from the lowest position you still do not have what it takes to hold what you are about to set off. Everyday version: do not ask for the raise this week, do not post the angry thread, do not sign the contract before reading all of it. Stopping here costs nothing; two moves later it would cost a good deal. Store the impulse, you will need all of it.

2. LíneaLine 2 — Los ejes fuera del carroThe axletrees removed

   El carro sigue entero, pero sin ejes no se mueve, y lo importante es que se desarma a propósito. Es la retención elegida, no la avería. En la práctica: pausar la campaña porque el producto no está listo, no responder hoy y responder mañana, sacar la tarjeta de la billetera. No hay frustración en esta línea si entendés que fuiste vos quien sacó los ejes. El carro entero espera y no se rompe nada.

   The wagon is still whole, but with no axletrees it does not move, and the point is that it was dismantled on purpose. This is chosen restraint, not a breakdown. In practice: pausing the campaign because the product is not ready, not replying today and replying tomorrow, taking the card out of your wallet. There is no frustration in this line once you understand that you are the one who removed the axletrees. The whole wagon waits and nothing breaks.

3. LíneaLine 3 — Buenos caballos que siguenGood horses in pursuit

   Un buen caballo que sigue a los otros. Conviene ser consciente del peligro y perseverar. Practicá a diario la conducción y la defensa. Es propicio tener adónde ir.A good horse following the others. Awareness of danger, with perseverance, furthers. Practise driving and defence daily. It furthers to have somewhere to go.

   Se abrió el camino y ahora sí podés correr, pero la línea agrega una condición rara: entrená todos los días igual. Es el momento en que la energía acumulada empieza a salir y aparece la tentación de dejar la disciplina que la juntó. En lo concreto: te llegó el primer cliente grande y no es la semana para abandonar los sistemas. Corré con los otros caballos, pero seguí practicando conducción y defensa. La velocidad sin oficio se paga en la primera curva.

   The road has opened and now you can run, but the line adds an odd condition: keep training every single day. This is the moment when the stored energy starts coming out and the temptation appears to drop the discipline that gathered it. Concretely: the first big client arrived and this is not the week to abandon your systems. Run with the other horses, but keep practising driving and defence. Speed without craft gets paid for on the first bend.

   Al ternero se le pone la tabla antes de que los cuernos crezcan, y así no lastima a nadie ni hay que pelear con él después. Es la línea de la prevención inteligente: encauzar una fuerza cuando todavía es chica. En la vida real es poner el límite el primer día, ordenar las cuentas cuando el negocio es diminuto, hablar del malentendido cuando todavía es un detalle. Cuesta poquísimo y evita años. La gran fortuna del 26 vive en el trabajo temprano.

   The board goes on the calf before the horns grow, so it never gores anyone and nobody has to fight the animal later. This is the line of intelligent prevention: channelling a force while it is still small. In real life it means setting the boundary on day one, tidying the books while the business is tiny, naming the misunderstanding while it is still a detail. It costs almost nothing and saves years. The great good fortune of 26 lives in early work.

   El colmillo sigue ahí, intacto y filoso, pero el animal ya no embiste. La línea enseña a desactivar el peligro en la raíz en vez de pelear con el síntoma: no le arranques el colmillo, sacale la furia. En lo concreto: en lugar de discutir cada agresión de alguien, cambiá la condición que lo pone en guerra; en lugar de prohibirte el gasto, sacá la app del teléfono. Es la forma más elegante de la fuerza contenida, y por eso trae fortuna.

   The tusk is still there, intact and sharp, but the animal no longer charges. The line teaches how to defuse danger at the root instead of fighting the symptom: do not pull the tusk out, remove the fury. Concretely: instead of arguing with every jab from someone, change the condition that puts them at war; instead of forbidding yourself the purchase, delete the app from your phone. It is the most elegant form of contained force, and that is why it brings good fortune.

   La montaña se abre y todo lo guardado sale al mismo tiempo. La línea de arriba del 26 es la única del hexagrama donde no hay contención: la fuerza acumulada durante años encuentra por fin su cauce y circula. En la vida es el libro que se publica, el negocio que despega, la persona que por fin ocupa el lugar para el que se venía preparando. No hay consejo de prudencia acá. Es el momento de gastar lo que juntaste.

   The mountain opens and everything stored comes out at once. The top line of 26 is the only one in the hexagram with no restraint: force accumulated over years finally finds its channel and circulates. In life it is the book that gets published, the business that takes off, the person who at last occupies the place they were preparing for. There is no counsel of prudence here. This is the moment to spend what you gathered.
