El dictamen. El retorno. Éxito. Se sale y se entra sin daño; los amigos llegan sin falta. El camino va y viene: al séptimo día vuelve el regreso. Es favorable tener adónde ir.

La imagen. El trueno dentro de la tierra: la imagen del retorno. Así los antiguos reyes cerraban los pasos en el solsticio; los mercaderes no viajaban y el soberano no recorría las provincias.

En el calendario chino el 24 corresponde al undécimo mes, cuando el yang renace después de haberse agotado por completo en el hexagrama anterior (23, La desintegración). La figura lo muestra literalmente: el trueno —la energía que despierta— está enterrado bajo cinco líneas de tierra. Todavía no truena. Está cargándose.

Por eso la imagen habla de cerrar los pasos y no viajar. No es pasividad: es la decisión de no gastar lo poco que recién vuelve. Un brote no se riega con manguera.

The Judgment. Return. Success. Going out and coming in without harm; friends arrive without fail. The way goes and comes back: on the seventh day comes the return. It is favourable to have somewhere to go.

The Image. Thunder within the earth: the image of Return. Thus the ancient kings closed the passes at the solstice; merchants did not travel and the ruler did not tour the provinces.

In the Chinese calendar, 24 belongs to the eleventh month, when yang is reborn after being completely spent in the previous hexagram (23, Splitting Apart). The figure shows it literally: thunder — the energy that awakens — lies buried under five lines of earth. It does not thunder yet. It is charging.

That is why the image speaks of closing the passes and not travelling. It is not passivity: it is the decision not to spend the little that has only just come back. You do not water a sprout with a hose.

Lo que el oráculo te pide es sencillo de entender y difícil de hacer: volvé por el camino natural, sin forzar, y no te exijas el resultado de antes. "Se sale y se entra sin daño" quiere decir que si respetás el ritmo, no hay costo. "Al séptimo día" quiere decir que el ciclo se completa solo; no lo vas a acelerar.

El error típico con el 24 es doble: o no confiar en el brote ("seguro es otra falsa alarma") o pisarlo con ansiedad ("ahora sí, todo junto"). El hexagrama dice que hay un tercer camino: acompañar.

En lo práctico, el hexagrama 24 suele aparecer cuando:

• Volvés a tener ganas de algo que abandonaste (estudiar, entrenar, escribir, hablar con alguien).
• Una relación que se había enfriado manda una señal mínima.
• Salís de un bajón y te sentís frágil pero despierto.

You drew 24 and the question was about a relationship, a project or a part of you that you had written off. The answer is: it is not over. Something started beating again. But mind the scale: it is ONE yang line against five yin. The proportion matters. It is a small "yes", not a "yes" to announce.

What the oracle asks of you is simple to understand and hard to do: come back by the natural path, without forcing, and do not demand the old result of yourself. "Going out and coming in without harm" means that if you respect the rhythm there is no cost. "On the seventh day" means the cycle completes on its own; you will not speed it up.

The typical mistake with 24 is double: either you do not trust the sprout ("it is probably another false alarm") or you trample it with anxiety ("now for real, all at once"). The hexagram says there is a third way: accompany it.

In practice, hexagram 24 tends to come up when:

• You feel like doing something you had abandoned again (studying, training, writing, talking to someone).
• A relationship that had gone cold sends a minimal signal.
• You are coming out of a low and feel fragile but awake.

   Te desviaste poco y lo notaste a tiempo. Esta es la mejor línea del hexagrama: corregís el rumbo cuando todavía no cuesta nada. En la vida concreta: pediste disculpas el mismo día, retomaste el hábito después de una semana, no después de un año. No lo dramatices; agradecelo y seguí.

   You strayed a little and noticed in time. This is the best line of the hexagram: you correct course while it still costs nothing. In concrete life: you apologised the same day, you picked the habit back up after a week, not after a year. Do not dramatise it; be grateful and carry on.

2. LíneaLine 2 — El retorno tranquiloQuiet return

   Volver con calma. Fortuna.Returning calmly. Good fortune.

   Volvés porque ves a alguien cerca que ya lo hizo bien, y eso te ordena. Acá el retorno es acompañado: apoyarte en un referente, una amistad, un grupo. No es copiar; es dejarte influir por lo que te hace bien. Si tenés a quién mirar, mirá; si no, buscalo antes de volver a intentar solo.

   You come back because you see someone nearby who already did it well, and that settles you. Here the return is accompanied: leaning on a reference, a friend, a group. It is not copying; it is letting yourself be influenced by what does you good. If you have someone to look to, look; if not, find them before trying alone again.

   Volver una y otra vez. Peligro, pero sin culpa.Returning again and again. Danger, but no fault.

   Volvés, te vas, volvés, te vas. Es la línea de la recaída. El texto es generoso: dice "peligro, pero sin culpa", porque cada regreso cuenta aunque no dure. Si estás acá, bajá la vara: el objetivo no es no caer más, es que cada vuelta sea un poco más corta que la anterior.

   You come back, you leave, you come back, you leave. It is the line of relapse. The text is generous: it says "danger, but no fault", because every return counts even if it does not last. If you are here, lower the bar: the goal is not to never fall again, it is for each return to be a little shorter than the last.

   Todos a tu alrededor van para otro lado y vos sentís que tenés que volver. La línea te da la razón sin prometerte aplausos. Es el regreso silencioso: no necesita que te entiendan, necesita que lo hagas. Nadie va a festejar que dejaste el grupo de chat, la dieta de moda o el plan que no era tuyo. Hacelo igual.

   Everyone around you is heading the other way and you feel you have to go back. The line says you are right without promising applause. It is the silent return: it does not need to be understood, it needs to be done. No one will celebrate that you left the group chat, the fashionable diet or the plan that was never yours. Do it anyway.

   Volver con sinceridad. Sin arrepentimiento.Returning with sincerity. No regret.

   Acá el regreso es una decisión adulta: reconocés el error, lo decís, lo corregís. No hay drama ni autocastigo. Es la línea del que vuelve a su lugar sin pedir perdón de rodillas ni hacer como si nada. Si tenés que decirle a alguien "me equivoqué", esta línea te dice que la forma correcta es simple, directa y sin excusas.

   Here the return is an adult decision: you recognise the mistake, you say it, you fix it. No drama, no self-punishment. It is the line of the one who goes back to their place without begging on their knees or pretending nothing happened. If you have to tell someone "I was wrong", this line says the right way is simple, direct and without excuses.

   La única línea oscura del hexagrama: la oportunidad de volver pasó y se insiste igual, tarde y con fuerza. En concreto: forzar la reconciliación cuando el otro ya cerró, relanzar el proyecto sin revisar por qué cayó, volver al trabajo que te enfermó "porque ahora va a ser distinto". Si te salió esta línea, la pregunta no es cómo volver sino qué no quisiste ver.

   The only dark line of the hexagram: the chance to return has passed and you insist anyway, late and with force. Concretely: forcing a reconciliation when the other person has already closed the door, relaunching the project without reviewing why it fell, going back to the job that made you ill "because this time will be different". If you drew this line, the question is not how to return but what you refused to see.
